The Studio
Finding space in Amsterdam is a daunting task.
With zoning rules and very specific requirements mandated by the GGD (Dutch Board of Health), it makes finding a space for a tattoo studio even more difficult.
That’s why I rent space for my private tattoo studio in a beauty salon setting.
The rooms in salons are set up in a way that ensure proper hygiene and conform to the GGD’s standards.

No Salon or PMU Affiliation
I realize that there is a stigma regarding tattooing in beauty salons due to the overwhelming number of PMU artists doing fine line tattoos. PMU and fine line tattoos are NOT the same thing.
Transparency regarding this is as important to me as it should be to you. I am not affiliated with the other salon-type businesses in the space where I rent. I do not now, nor have I ever done PMU. I had a formal old school tattoo apprenticeship over 25 years ago. My mentor taught me how to solder needles, make pigment and do traditional tattooing with coil machines and steel tips & grips. Most shops today don’t even have autoclaves to sterilize that type of equipment anymore because most of the materials we use now are disposable.

​I have been using rotary machines and needle cartridges since 2022. Simply put, they make my job easier. It is a gentler process and tattoos are more delicate. This makes both the tattoo’s longevity and the overall experience better for my clients.

Getting Tattooed
At Lovelorn Tattoo, your comfort is my priority. Getting tattooed can be exciting, even scary. It’s important to feel comfortable not only with your tattoo artist but with your surroundings as well. This is one of the main reasons why I opened my own private tattoo studio.
Getting tattooed in a regular tattoo shop can be overstimulating and even intimidating, especially if you’re modest or it’s your first tattoo. During your session, no one else will be in the room unless you bring a support person with you.
Everything will be explained to you thoroughly before, during and after the session. Written aftercare instructions can be given to you at the studio. Should you forget, there’s also an aftercare page right here on my website. As always, you can even contact me directly. I’m extremely responsive to messages and DMs.

Groups
There is no waiting room at the studio.
Please do not come more than 5-10 minutes early.
Groups of 4 or more would need to be split up. A group discount will be offered to make up for this minor inconvenience.
Please try to arrange group visits in advance so I’m better able to accommodate you.
Location
I can’t wait to welcome you in my cozy private tattoo studio, right in the heart of Amsterdam.
Conveniently located near Centraal Station in the bustling Haarlemmerbuurt (Haarlemmer neighborhood), just a 7 minute walk from the station.

House Rules
I do not tattoo minors, even with parental consent.
All appointments require a non-refundable deposit.
If you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, I can and will refuse service.
Walk In tattoos are subject to availability. A spot is not guaranteed.
Not all work qualifies for walk in service. Designs that require a lot of drawing require an appointment.
Your appointment can be rescheduled once before losing your deposit.

GWYG (Get What You Get) tattoos are exactly that.
I am immunocompromised and wear a mask while tattooing. Please respect this. I will not ask you to wear one. Please do not come in if you are sick.
No photos or videos while I am tattooing.

Lovelorn Tattoo is registered with the KvK (Dutch Chamber of Commerce) and is fully licensed by GGD Amsterdam (Amsterdam Board of Health).
